WHY STABLE BEAM
I spent years in finance. I read the reports. I sat in the meetings. I watched the presentations. And when stablecoins started moving real volume not crypto speculation, but actual money, I went looking for research I could trust. I couldn't find it.
[PROBLEM]
Stablecoins settled $15.6 trillion in 2024. That's on par with Visa. Stripe made its largest acquisition ever $1.1 billion to buy a stablecoin company. BlackRock launched a tokenized fund on Ethereum. The U.S. Congress passed the GENIUS Act, the first federal stablecoin law in American history.
And yet.
The coverage is still mostly crypto Twitter threads. Recycled press releases. Hot takes that expire before lunch. Sponsored content dressed up as analysis. Surface-level summaries written by people who never opened the actual filing.
I kept thinking: where is the research? Not the hype. Not the opinions. The actual, sourced, primary-document research that a professional could use to make decisions?
It didn't exist. Not for stablecoins. Not independently.
So I decided to build it.

[ What Stable Beam Is ]
Stable Beam is an independent research publication covering stablecoins and digital money infrastructure.
That means three things:
INDEPENDENT.
No token affiliations. No sponsored content. No venture backing with strings attached. The moment our incentives are compromised, our research is worthless. So we don't compromise them.
RESEARCH.
Not news. Not takes. Research. We start with primary sources protocol documentation, regulatory filings, attestation reports, on-chain data. I read the 150-page bills. I check the reserve compositions. I verify the numbers before we publish them.
STABLECOINS.
Not all of crypto. Not DeFi broadly. Stablecoins and the infrastructure they run on payment rails, regulation, monetary policy, cross-border settlement. One subject. Total depth.

Why StableCoins, Why Now
Here's what most people outside the industry don't realise yet: Stablecoins are not a crypto story. They're a money story.
A freelancer in Lagos gets paid in USDT because the local banking system can't process a wire transfer in less than two weeks. A factory in Shenzhen settles invoices in USDC because it's faster and cheaper than SWIFT. A family in Buenos Aires stores savings in digital dollars because their currency lost half its value last year.
This is happening right now. Every day. At scale, & it's not just emerging markets. Stripe the company that powers payments for Amazon, Google, and Shopify is building its entire next chapter around stablecoin infrastructure. PayPal issued its own. Visa is settling transactions in USDC. JPMorgan has had an internal stablecoin since 2019.
The financial system is being rewired. The question is not whether this matters. The question is whether you understand it before everyone else does.

We didn't choose "stable" because of stablecoins, though the double meaning works. We chose it because stability is what's missing from the coverage of this industry. Stable analysis. Stable methodology. Stable independence.
And "beam" because that's what signal looks like when it cuts through darkness.
Signal. Through. Noise.
That's all we do.
